What is Healing on the Streets?

It is a gentle but direct form of healing ministry where members of the public are invited to sit on a chair and be prayed for by a small group (usually healing banner3) of trained people. After prayer, the person is given an information pack should they wish to learn more about Jesus and local churches.

Can anyone pray for healing?

Since we are all God's children and Jesus told us to heal the sick, in one sense we can all pray for healing. Many people do this in their own churches with incredible results. However, Healing on the Streets is a particular kind of ministry and we want everyone on the team to be properly prepared before heading out to the city.

How can I join the ministry team?

We ask that you are a practising Christian who has been regularly attending church for at least six months and are actively involved in the life of the church. To this end we would require a recommendation from your church leader to confirm this before training. However, if you would like to come and watch us on the streets before you want to commit please contact us and we would be delighted to talk to you.

What does the training involve?

Training is generally a full day or one evening and the following morning depending on when you join us. The first part of the course is theologically based giving the background to the initiative and why healing is a ministry that Jesus called us to do. The training concludes with practical information and advice on how to pray on the streets for people who may not be Christian or regular churchgoers. The whole ethos of Healing on the Streets is to show people God's love for them individually and how they can experience this in a real and tangible way. The training gives useful tips on how best to minister to people who are not used to church environments to ensure they are as relaxed and receptive as possible.

I'd still like to join you. What do I do next?

If you have any more questions or would like to come and see us in action to find out whether Healing on the Streets is for you, please contact us (see "Contact Us" on the menu or phone 07790 537 567) and we would be delighted to talk to you about healing.
